"Sharing the Waterhole" captures a serene moment between two horses. One, a beautiful bay mare, like Venus who was my friend Lisa’s first horse, an unbelievable story ends with me riding her many years later while living at the ranch Lisa sold him to in Marin County. The other, reminiscent of June, our quarter horse with a black mane and tail and a dark brown coat, whose spirit appears in many of my paintings. With their heads gracefully lowered, they share a tranquil scene that is both intimate and peaceful. The rippling water beneath them mirrors the rich colors of their coats and the surrounding environment, creating a play of reflections and light. The antique carved 21st Century Spanish rustic wooden frame adds an extra layer of history, complementing the artwork’s serene mood and harmony of the moment, where simplicity and natural beauty intertwine seamlessly.
